Terms of Service

These terms are between you and Miheretab Samson, a sole trader based in Ethiopia and trading as “Voxide” (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.

Voxide provides an SDK and hosted service that lets you embed a voice and text AI assistant into your website. You register functions from your own application as capabilities, and the assistant calls them in response to what your visitors say or type. The service includes a dashboard for configuration, conversation review and usage analytics.

We improve the service continuously and may change features. If we discontinue something you materially rely on, we will give reasonable notice.

Provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. A publishable key is visible to anyone who views your site's source, restrict it to your own domains using the domain allowlist in your dashboard. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 16 to use Voxide.

This section matters more than any other, because you are deploying our technology to people who have no relationship with us.

• Disclose the assistant. Make it clear to your visitors that they are interacting with an AI assistant, not a person.
• Handle consent and notice. If your assistant listens to a microphone or collects personal information, you are responsible for providing the required notice and obtaining any consent the law requires, and for reflecting this in your own privacy policy.
• You are the data controller for conversations on your site. We process them on your behalf, see section 2 of the Privacy Policy.
• Choose your capabilities carefully. The assistant can call any function you register. Do not expose anything destructive, irreversible or financially significant without a confirmation step.
• Mark sensitive fields. Where your assistant collects personal details such as names or addresses, declare those parameters as sensitive so they are removed before storage.

If you are subject to GDPR and need a Data Processing Agreement covering the conversations we process on your behalf, contact us at support@voxide.app and we will put one in place.

You may not use Voxide to:

• Break the law, or infringe anyone's rights.
• Impersonate a person or organisation, or misrepresent the assistant as human when asked directly.
• Record or monitor people without the consent the law requires.
• Generate or distribute malware, spam, or content that harasses, defrauds or endangers people.
• Provide unsupervised medical, legal or financial advice where an error could cause serious harm.
• Attempt to breach or overload the service, circumvent usage limits, or access another customer's data.
• Resell the service or use it to build a directly competing product.

We may suspend an account that breaches this section. Where the risk allows it, we will contact you first.

The assistant is powered by third-party AI models. Its output is generated, not retrieved, and it can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate even when correctly configured. We do not warrant that it will be accurate.

You are responsible for evaluating whether output is suitable for your use, and for keeping a human in the loop wherever an error would cause harm. Any confirmation prompts or safeguards are aids, not guarantees.

• Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically for the same period until cancelled.
• Usage-based charges are billed in arrears for the period in which they were incurred.
• Cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
• Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for applicable taxes.
• We may change prices with reasonable notice; changes take effect at your next renewal.

Free plans are provided as-is and subject to usage limits that we may adjust.

Refunds: we do not refund partial billing periods. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Statutory cooling-off rights for consumers apply regardless of this clause.

You keep everything of yours. Your code, content, configuration and data remain yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the service for you.

We keep everything of ours. The Voxide platform, SDK, dashboard, branding and documentation remain ours. Your subscription grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the service without obligation to you.

We work to keep Voxide available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service depends on third-party providers, including the AI model provider, and an outage on their side may interrupt it. We do not currently offer a contractual uptime commitment or service credits. If you need one for an enterprise agreement, contact us.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to these terms.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, from content or capabilities you deploy, or from your failure to provide required notices or obtain required consents from your visitors.

You may stop using Voxide and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that materially breaches these terms, that we are legally required to terminate, or that poses a security risk to the service or its users.

On termination your access ends and your data is deleted in line with the retention periods in the Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep beforehand.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect, and continued use afterwards means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the courts of Ethiopia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your own country of residence, which you keep regardless of what this clause says.
